Political Cartoon 7

  •       This Political cartoon is untitled.  If I were to name it though it would be “Beneficial Reasons for the to Government Close.”  I would title it this because the man is clearly hoping that the government shuts down so that he doesn’t need to pay taxes.
  •           The people represented in this cartoon are average Joe’s probably in the middle class.
  •       The husband is watching TV and has his fingers crossed; his wife in the background is saying they will still to have to pay their taxes if the Government shuts down.
  •               The message of this cartoon is that a lot of programs will be affected if the government were to shut down.  I think this cartoon is ideology unbiased.
  •       This cartoon is related to current events because it is based off the recent possible Government closure.  In class we talked about how we would be affected personally if the Government were to shut down, and the main thing was money next year for college, but the Government didn’t shut so we don’t need to worry.
  •          This cartoon is ironic because if the Government were to shut down a lot of programs would be put on pause until Government were to resume, but this man is only worried about paying the upcoming taxes.

Political Cartoon 6

  •  This specific political cartoon is untitled.  If I were to give it a title though it would be “2012 GOP Presidential Hopefuls.”  I would title it this because one it says it one the hood of the clown car and also because it has members of the Tea Party and an elephant checking them off on what appears to a list.
  • People represented in this cartoon are members of the GOP or the Grand Olde Party: Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckbaee, Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump.  The artist is inferring that members of the GOP are clowns.  The elephant represents the Republican Party.
  • Members of the GOP are dressed as clowns and getting out of a clown car and the elephant or Republican Party is checking them off on a list, perhaps a ballet for the Republican Party primary.
  • The ideology of this cartoon is Liberal, because it has the Republican’s elephants doubting his own candidates.
